The Layered Astrolabe

A kairoglyph dial built from independent rings. A 360° degree ticker counter-rotates the drifting zodiac band, read by four cardinal index arrows; the nested figures each solve on their own cadence, and a golden teardrop falls to strike the lock — sealing an ever-changing sacred geometry drawn from the twelve.

Ring 01 · outermost

The degree ticker

360 one-degree marks, majors every 30°. It counter-rotates the geometry and, on a strike, spins up and clicks through a combination — four cardinal index arrows mark where it stops.

Ring 02 · drifting

The zodiac band

The twelve signs, on a slow drift by default so the whole instrument breathes. Switch it to hold steady if you want the signs locked upright.

Rings 03–05 · nested

The solving geometry

Two figures drawn from the twelve and the true fingerprint (its real planetary aspects) nest toward the core. Each solves independently, then a golden teardrop seals them into an ever-changing sacred geometry — hexagram, grand cross, dodecagram, twelve-point star…
